Michal Ben Yosef
Michal Ben Yosef is one of Israel’s most favorite Judaica artists. For about 20 years she has been designing and creating unique and functional Judaica. Based in the Holy Land her work has focused on crafting amazing ceramic Judaica pieces and items for the home. All of Michal's Mezuzahs, Kiddush Cups, Serving Plates, Seder Plates, Hamsas, Washing Cups and more, are handcrafted and fired in a kiln, ensuring long-lasting durability. Her broad artistic vision flourishes through continual experimentation and ongoing study, employing unique and innovative techniques.
Shapes and colors found in nature are inspiration to Michal. The motifs she selects for her work are drawn from the plant and animal life in Israel, and her ethereal palette reflects its seasonal cycle. You’ll find themes such as Pomegranates, Palm Trees and Flowers throughout her product line.
Michal allows some of her work to remain partially unglazed, bringing forth the natural beauty of the bare material's unique body and texture. In doing so, she creates pieces unique and earthy. The textures beckon the beholder to touch, feel and use the item.
Michal treats her Judaica art pieces as jewels, incorporating verses from the Holy Scriptures with a golden touch. Her work captures with great sensitivity Israel’s spiritual qualities, beauty, and pure joy. World of Judaica is proud to showcase Michal’s ceramic Judaica.
